What it is for

Plain text editor (any text file that no other tool claims; the fallback, written back with its encoding, line endings and final newline unchanged)

Why a specialized view helps

It is the fallback that makes every text file in a project open in ADP, without changing the file's shape when it is saved.

What is visible: The plain-text editor: line numbers and the four lines of the note in a monospace face, and the status line reading **Saved**.

Why it matters: A plain text file opens with line numbers in a monospace face and keeps its own line endings, so notes that belong to a project are edited without leaving it.
