What it is for

Supply chain diagram (raw materials, suppliers, manufacturers, assemblers, distributors, retailers and consumers as stage cards in named groups, joined by flows whose band width follows their volume; selecting one traces everything upstream and downstream of it, and its quantity or volume steps up and down in place; `.supply`, ADP's own YAML schema); `supply-chain`

Why a specialized view helps

A supply chain's questions are volume and dependency: bands must widen with what flows through them and a selection must light the whole chain up- and downstream, which a generic canvas leaves to hand-drawing and guesswork.
